“The Design Quality indicators for schools question cards (DQIFS) developed by Kent Architecture Centre are useful for pupils to analyse school buildings – both their own and those they visit” – Our school building matters, How to use investment in the fabric of your school to inspire learning – published by CABE, February 2010.
Helping local people improve public space
Spaceshaper is a practical toolkit to measure the quality of a public space before investing time and money in improving it. The Spaceshaper process captures the views of professionals who are running the space as well as those of the people that use the space. Facilitated workshops discuss the results, design quality and how the space works for different people.
We offer introductory sessions and facilitator training for Spaceshaper and Spaceshaper 9-14 for organisations across the UK – read more
We also have 3 accredited Spaceshaper Facilitators who manage workshops for a range of public, private and third sector clients – read more
Helping people of all ages get involved in the design of their homes and schools
We have developed a unique toolkit based on Design Quality Indicators to help people of all ages assess design quality in order to contribute to design development.
Helping people understand and shape their neighbourhood
We work creatively with communities across the South East to help people understand the qualities and character of where they live and to define needs and aspirations, working towards a their shared vision.
Helping local people shape their neighbourhoods through the planning process
Our workshops for local people help communities to shape their place through the planning process by bringing together the range of community stakeholders and discussing, debating and shaping a plan over a 1, 2 or 3 day workshop.
