Celebrate the Love Architecture Festival in Gravesend

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) invites everyone to celebrate the places and buildings they love this summer with its annual Love Architecture Festival.

What’s happening in Gravesend

Clay Architecture was originally established in Gravesend in 1904. Since then an enormous number of local buildings have been designed or refurbished by the practice. Kasan Goh and Camilla Prizeman, who took over the practice in 2000 are determined to create an archive of Gravesend’s architectural heritage, including recording people’s memories of buildings and changes. The project is supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

On Thursday 27 June, Kasan Goh and Irene Seijo of the Kent Architecture Centre, which is partnering Clay Architecture in the project Making Places, Changing People will talk about progress so far. They will cover the main themes of the project – buildings that relate to leisure, work and faith. The talk will be held at the Community Room in Gravesend Library from 6:30 to 8:00pm.
