Access Consultant, Access=Design
Ann is an architect and has been working as an access consultant for 15 years. With extensive experience in consulting on design, audit and management of accessible built environments, strategic planning and staff training in access issues she is also the author of the respected Access Manual published by Blackwell. She set up and ran the access consultancy service at the Centre for Accessible Environments, the only charity specialising in access and inclusive design, and now operates as an independent access consultant.
Ann has a broad base of experience having worked with many large organisations and architectural practices advising on the implementation of access improvements in existing buildings and inclusive design in new buildings. Her work has covered a great variety of building types and external environments, including arts, sports, leisure and historic buildings and environments. She has wide experience in the inclusive design of museums and galleries and education buildings.
Ann is a member of the Urban Design London panel of design surgeons and a member of the South East Regional Design Panel.
