Description: Accredited, practice-based introductory Urban Design course for housing professionals
Why we carried out the project: We were invited by Swan Housing Group to develop a tailored, practice-based training course, comprising seven sessions, to introduce staff from across their organisation, to the theory and practice of good urban design. Throughout the course the participants used one of their live projects to develop their skills in the principles of good design, placemaking, site appraisal and analysis, brief writing, assessing design quality and the effective commissioning of design teams. The course has since been run four times for different clients.
