Kent Architecture Centre first worked with local people through a series of interactive workshops to set the aspiration and create a development brief. The community centre will bring a new focus to the under-used green space adjoining the emerging neighbourhood centre.
As part of the design development process KAC ran an invited Architecture Competition to select the design team with the support of Swale Borough Council.
East Architects were selected from the three finalists as having responded most successfully to the qualities of the site, producing a unique and striking building that responded to the needs of the growing community.
